About Therapy

Therapy is a shared journey where client and therapist work together as partners. The client is the expert in their life; the therapist's role is a facilitator for change.  The therapeutic relationship is essential to allow space for thoughts and feelings to be shared without fear of judgment. This connection creates opportunities for growth and change through a balance of challenge and supportive care. The therapist listens empathically and with a curiosity and warmth empowering clients to respond in new ways to life situations, to develop a shift in attitude towards the self and to live from a place of wholeness and connection.

Therapy can vary in length depending on your needs. Short term counselling focusses on specific goals whereas psychotherapy is a longer commitment exploring past experiences and their impact on current life situations. Discussing your goals with your therapist will help to focus the the direction of the work.
